The Sr. Manager, Digital Sales (Packaging, Positioning & Materials) will report to the SVP, Brand Content and Partnerships. The role's primary responsibility is to drive sales across EDN's expanded offering of programming. This includes EDN’s original slate of programming launched at the 2016 NewFronts as well as its mobile and gaming content, which includes the Heads Up!, the #1 Paid App of 2015 in Apple’s App Store, Ellen’s large social footprint, as well as digital content from the Emmy-award winning Ellen show.  In addition, this person will develop and maintain all cross platform sales collateral, inclusive of all brand and sales decks.

Successful candidates will have an exceptional track record for packaging and positioning innovative digital sales offerings that deliver on client-goals, while helping to exceed digital sales targets. The candidate must have a deep familiarity and understanding of the digital advertising space, be a strategic and solution oriented thinker with the ability to go beyond the traditional, and possess strong interpersonal skills. While highly strategic, this person is equally comfortable rolling up his/her sleeves and getting the work/writing/presentation-editing needs done and delivered on-time and in full. This person genuinely LOVES the process of learning about brands, their needs, and crafting a sales narrative all while staying authentic to the business.  They must be highly organized and able to thrive in a high volume, fast-paced and team-oriented television production environment. This new role will be critical in driving new business, and has tremendous growth potential.


  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance and packaging of all digitally-lead and cross-platform sales offerings, materials, presentations, case studies, and wrap decks
  • Develops innovative and best-in-class strategies to package and sell EDN digital, mobile/gaming content, app, social and video assets
  • Works in close collaboration with digital sellers to exceed sales goals with a laser focus on driving multi-platform, multi-million dollar programs
  • Focused on packaging and positioning client-specific needs within RFP responses, producing ideas that smartly articulate content marketing solutions using the arsenal of offerings,  weaving in Ellen Digital Brand’s editorial vision, tonality and best practices
  • Has a keen ability to think at a high-level to deliver a strong sales story but also can delve into the minutia of a digital media plan to offer highly-attractive and effective programs against client KPIs
  • Foster audience and consumer insights to drive quality and depth of pitches
  • Uses all data tools to carve out story (working hand-in-hand with WB Research and EDN analytical teams)
  • Understands all data and competitive data (past partnerships) in order to tell accurate and compelling sales narratives
  • When required, attends in-person sales pitch presentations to communicate effectiveness of offerings – this person isn’t afraid of leading a pitch meeting, in fact thrives on being able to share those super sharp ideas he/she has prepared
  • Supports training of Branded team to pursue sales growth
  • Maintains deep understanding of competitors and digital industry trends
  • Acts as primary liaison between producers and sales team to market programming needs
  • Works closely with Development and Production to provide marketplace insights and opportunities around new platforms and technologies (i.e., Facebook Live, ad products, off-site distribution)


  • A minimum of 6 years of integrated digital sales experience
  • High school diploma required
  • Experience managing and closing large custom content deals and integrated, multi-platform programs
  • Expertise in advertising pricing and packaging
  • Proven ability to collaborate around new product (ad, tent poles) development, expertise in packaging of products, and rollout to a larger sales organization
  • Ability to create powerful, strategic and creative proposals
  • Current list of senior agency and client relationships
  • Must be a problem solver and creative thinker
  • Exceptional design aesthetic and attention to detail in all aspects of the job
  • Self-starter with strong team ideals and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to provide strategic and creative direction
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • High-level of proficiency and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, Salesforce and Google apps; knowledge of Photoshop and other design-oriented programs a huge plus
  • Must have an extensive track record of building clean, concise and aesthetically pleasing presentation decks
  • Must be willing and able to travel
