SUMMARY OF POSITION
Ellen Digital Network seeks an experienced digital advertising lead to help guide its growing, Emmy-award-winning business. The Ellen Digital Network (EDN) harnesses the power of Ellen’s massive audience online and in social media, where she consistently ranks as the top TV personality, and continues to grow at a record-setting pace. Ellen ranks as a top creator of digital content online, with more than 500M total cross-platform views, and reaches 71.1M fans worldwide.

Advertising Director, Digital Video Sales will report to the SVP, Brand Content and Partnerships. The Advertising Director’s primary responsibility is to drive sales across EDN's expanded offering of programming. This includes EDN’s original slate of programming, its mobile and gaming content, which includes the Heads Up!, the #1 Paid App of 2015 in Apple’s App Store, ELLEN’s large social footprint, as well as digital content from the Emmy-award winning Ellen show.

Successful candidates will have an exceptional track record for exceeding digital sales targets and managing internal branded team, client and agency relationships. The candidate must be a strategic and solution oriented thinker with the ability to go beyond the traditional, available sales tools to close deals, and possess strong interpersonal skills. They must be highly organized and able to thrive in a high volume, fast-paced and team-oriented television production environment. This new role will be critical in driving new business.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish digital advertising strategy for east coast sales, goals and revenue projections for Ellen Digital Network (EDN).

  • Proactively prospect, grow and close digital business to meet and exceed sales goals with a laser focus on driving multi-platform, multi-million dollar programs

  • Incorporate innovative and best-in-class strategies to package and sell EDN digital, mobile/gaming content, app, social and video assets.

  • Identify new business opportunities and case studies

  • Supports training of Branded team to pursue sales growth

  • Maintains deep understanding of competitors and digital industry trends

  • Works with management to accurately forecast revenue

  • Acts as a liaison with Content and Programming to provide market feedback

  • Works closely with Development and Production to provide marketplace insights and opportunities around new platforms and technologies (i.e., Facebook Live, ad products, off-site distribution)


    JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 8 years of integrated digital sales experience

  • Experience managing and closing large custom content deals and integrated, multi-platform programs

  • Current list of senior agency and client relationships

  • Ability to independently prospect and develop new business pipeline and close deals

  • Expertise in advertising pricing and packaging

  • Proven ability to collaborate around new product (ad, tentpoles) development, expertise in packaging of products, and rollout to a larger sales organization

  • Must be a problem solver and creative thinker

  • Self-starter with strong team ideals and an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Ability to provide strategic and creative direction

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
